Triton College, a leader in continuing education for health professionals in the western suburbs, is offering the Infectious Disease Contact Tracing Program, a free, comprehensive, three-week online, instructor-led course taught by our respected Respiratory Care Expert. Once the training is completed, students may be able to get hired by health departments across the state earning between $15 and $27 an hour.
Contact tracers are instrumental in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses. Their primary responsibility is to work with patients who've had a virus and find out who they came into contact with while they were contagious. Illinois is planning to invest almost $80 million in building a statewide contact tracing program. The goal is to have at least 30 tracers per 100,000 residents.
Upon completion of the program, you will be able to conduct contact tracing according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and recommendations.
Our instructor led, online Contact Tracing Training Program modules include:
- Basic principles of contact tracing
- Case investigation strategies
- Contact tracing protocol
- Communication and interviewing techniques
- Legal and ethical considerations
