Day of Silence 2021
The Day of Silence is a nationally recognized event organized by the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) meant to represent LGBTQ+ people who have been silenced in the past and present. It was founded by college students in the 1990s and has since spread nationwide. During the month of April, students go an entire day without speaking during school and at the end of the day they break their silence to discuss ways their institutions can be more inclusive.
This year, the event will take place on Friday, April 23. Triton students are encouraged to participate. The school is providing digital graphics that you can use to show people why you are silent. For more information on the event, click here.
