NJCAA cancels all upcoming competition ending Triton College’s spring sports season

The Triton College spring athletics’ season is immediately cancelled as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) ends all competition for the remainder of the academic year. The decision to cancel the season was based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves, the NJCAA said in a statement.

The Triton spring sports teams affected by the cancelation are baseball, softball and track & field. The college's winter sports including wrestling and men’s and women’s basketball teams were able to complete their seasons earlier this month prior to the NJCAA’s decision.
