Triton College celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month
Triton College is proud to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month September 15 through October 15. The month recognizes and celebrates both Hispanic and Latino cultures, heritage, and contributions to American society.
September 15 is a historically significant day that marks the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The beginning of September also marks culturally significant celebrations for Mexico and Chile, which celebrate their independence on Sept. 16 and Sept. 18, respectively.
There are events planned for the Triton community in honor of the month. For information about the events visit https://www.triton.edu/hispanicheritage.
