Career Services: How to navigate the state of Illinois hiring process
Triton College Career Services department will co-host an information session with the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) and Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) on how to navigate the state of Illinois hiring process. The event is Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2-3 p.m., via Zoom.
Students, alumni and community members are encouraged to attend the information session to gain insight on the application website, resume submission tips and available job roles.
“The application process for the state can be complex. During the session we will discuss job qualifications, testing procedures and the best methods to apply,” Katy McGuinnis, Ed.D., employer relations specialist said.
The IDVA has about 400 roles to fill for a new long-term health facility planned for the Triton community. Available career paths at the facility will include health care, human resources, information technology, accounting, transportation, facilities and maintenance, office support and social service.
“The information session is perfect for our students and alumni because it will help anyone who wants to get hired by a state department, not only those interested in jobs at the IDVA’s new facility,” McGuinnis said.
All interested participants must register for the information session at http://bit.ly/TCIDVFinfo.
