Learn how Triton College can prepare you for a career with the Illinois State Police

Students and community members interested in learning how Triton College can give them a leg up in becoming an Illinois State Police (ISP) trooper are invited attend an informational event on Triton’s campus on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Starting in 2020, prospective ISP applicants will no longer be required to hold a bachelor’s degree. Instead, state law will require that candidates complete 60 hours of college credit for eligibility.

Triton College’s Criminal Justice Administration Program offers associate degree programs that can be completed in two years or less — meeting the ISP educational requirement.

The informational event on Nov. 13 begins at 11 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center auditorium (R218), located in the R Building on the east side of Triton’s campus, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove.

Speakers will include Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Hector Alejandre, and Triton College Criminal Justice Administration Program coordinator Gregory Catena.

Triton’s Criminal Justice Administration program offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Applied Science degree programs. These affordable, high-quality programs cover criminology, police/community relations, traffic enforcement & administration and other topics that will prepare students for success in their career. Faculty members include retired police officers, former prosecutors and other criminal justice professionals ready to share their experiences and expertise.
