RSVP searching for volunteers to help out L’Arche Chicago and Travelers Aid

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at Triton College is in search of volunteers to help out two partners, L’Arche Chicago and Travelers Aid. L’Arche Chicago owns and manages three communal homes where 11 adults who have intellectual disabilities live and are supported by L’Arche in an intentional, interfaith community.

One of their locations is at 7313 Madison St., in Forest Park. They are looking for volunteers to participate in the activities of the home as they are happening, including watching television with members and helping with dinner, serving as guest chefs, light housekeeping and playing games.

Travelers Aid is in need of volunteers to staff information desks at O’Hare International Airport’s domestic and international terminals. Volunteers walk the terminals searching for passengers in need, provide direction to lost and confused travelers, share information about the airport and Chicago, and assist vulnerable passengers with special escorts onto their next destination.
