Triton’s ‘Executive Series’ Welcomes DePaul Accountancy Professor – Oct. 30

Kelly Richmond Pope, Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy and MIS at DePaul University, will share her expertise on confronting issues organizational misconduct, ethics and fraud during the upcoming ‘Executive Series,’ event presented by the Triton College School of Business.

Triton College students and community members are invited to attend the free event on Oct. 30, at 9:30 a.m. in room J-107 (J Building).

At the organizational level, Pope’s research examines factors that encourage employees to whistle-blow as well as the ethical decision-making process. This research has been published in leading accounting and business ethics journals and was developed into a TED Ed lesson entitled How People Rationalize Fraud as well as a TEDx Talk entitled Why Do We Hate Whistle-blowers?

Pope’s research on organizational misconduct led to her directing and producing the award-wining 2017 documentary, All the Queen’s Horses, which explores the largest municipal fraud in United States history.

Pope is a popular keynote speaker and frequently advises firms about their compliance programs and training. She is regularly invited to speak to regulators, including the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, PCAOB, Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In addition to her work at DePaul University, Pope also teaches in executive education programs at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Quilan School of Business at Loyola University.

The Triton College School of Business Executive Series is intended to inspire and encourage students to think about academic and career paths that can help prepare them to compete in the global workforce.
