Triton’s Emerging Leaders Network Welcomes Omar Yamini to Oak Park Library – Sept. 19.
Students and community members are invited to attend a special presentation designed to help young people understand the consequences of harmful behavior.
The IMLS‑Triton College Activating Community Opportunities: Emerging Leaders Network welcomes Omar Yamini to serve as the fall 2018 speaker at Oak Park Public Library.
The event takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 4-5 p.m. in the Veterans Room, located on the second floor of the library. The Oak Park Public Library is located at 834 Lake Street, Oak Park.
Yamini wrote What’s Wrong With You! (What You, Your Children, and Our Students Need To Know About My 15 Year Imprisonment From Age 20-35) in 2012.
He wrote it so that our young people truly understand the mental and emotional devastation of prison and what will happen to any of us if we lose our dignity and decency and invite harmful influences into our lives.
His book and program are being utilized by schools nationwide. With the support of his family, Omar founded “The Proper Perception, LLC” in the fall of 2012. Source: http://theproperperception.com/
