June 28, 2020

On June 28, 2020, we learned that a Triton College student tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the student was on campus was Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in the T Building.

Privacy laws prevent us from sharing personal details. The student is in contact with our Director of Health Services and is receiving medical care. Those who came in contact with the student are being informed about appropriate actions to take. We are cooperating with the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regarding next steps to ensure the health and safety of the community. Our thoughts are with the student throughout the recovery process.

In an abundance of care, T Building will be closed for cleaning on Monday, June 29, 2020. During that time, the building will be cleaned and sanitized using enhanced practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The building will reopen by 3 p.m. for evening classes.

Individuals exposed to COVID-19 are advised to self-quarantine for 14 days. If you exhibit symptoms, please follow the guidelines of the CDC and the Cook County Department of Public Health regarding testing. Students who test positive should inform Laura Hill, Director of Health Services, at laurahill@triton.edu. Employees who test positive should inform AVP Joe Klinger at joeklinger@triton.edu.

April 10, 2020

This afternoon a Triton employee self-reported testing positive for COVID-19. The employee last reported to work on Monday, March 16, 2020, and tested positive on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. This is the second employee who tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is receiving care and is in contact with our Director of Health Services. Our thoughts are with this employee.

April 8, 2020

We have learned of a new case of COVID-19 in the Triton College community. This afternoon we were notified that a Triton employee tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the employee was on campus was Wednesday, April 1, 2020, with symptoms beginning the following day. The employee is receiving care and is in contact with our Director of Health Services. Our thoughts are with this employee.

April 6, 2020

Late this afternoon we learned that a Triton College student recently tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the student was on campus was Monday, March 9, 2020, which is beyond the 14-day time recommended for self-quarantine. This is the first reported case of COVID-19 at Triton College.

Privacy laws prevent us from sharing many details. The student is in contact with our Director of Health Services and is receiving medical care. Our thoughts are with this student throughout the recovery process.
