Although these are my posted office hours, I am often in the office throughout the afternoon. My teaching schedule is posted on the office door. Teaching 
Currently, my teaching focus is Rhetoric and Composition, including developmental reading and writing courses.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
While for some rare individuals, writing is a natural gift, for most of us it has to be learned. For all of us, the skills need to be nurtured. I approach the teaching of writing from a practical perspective. There are tools and strategies that can help writers at all levels to improve their ability to communicate effectively, and these strategies form the framework for my classes.

My goal, though, is for students not only to become more skilled and confident as writers but through writing to become more aware of themselves as thinkers. As the author E.M. Forster said, "How do I know what I think until I see what I say?"
